Addis Guzo currently employs thirty-nine people (including security staff, kitchen staff, and cleaning staff). Since Addis Guzo addresses the needs of people with disabilities and not all professions in this particular field of work exist in Ethiopia, all employees receive a specific basic on the job training in their respective areas of responsibility. After the basic training, the employees are regularly coached by experts from abroad so that they can work at an increasingly higher professional level. Another goal of this comprehensive training is that employees can later train and instruct other professionals. In all departments (mobility aid, rehabilitation and skills development) Addis Guzo regularly breaks new ground, for example, in the introduction of professions such as rehabilitation mechanic, dance and basketball coach for people with disabilities, occupational therapist, remedial teacher, and also trains the first specialists in the field of early intervention in Ethiopia.
Tamirat Belay has extensive experience in key areas of senior management and holds a Master of Arts in International Social Sciences from Friedensau Theological University in Germany. He is responsible for the overall management of Addis Guzo Ethiopia. He is assisted by a management team consisting of the department heads and a staff representative.
